Instruction with Ron is on a personal "one-on-one" interpretive basis. He has learned, during his many years of teaching, that each student is an individual expression of his or her own creativity, so he instructs around each student's own style or expression. Each student develops his or her subject and works at a rate comfortable to them. On-location painting is his favorite response to his need to paint, but students often use good photographs. Location painting develops the eye colorization with your palette.

Ron paints with a painting knife that he designed years ago, which was made for him by Langnickel of Italy. His pupils often try painting with a painting knife and enjoy the freedom it brings.

Ron loves to share his talent with others to arouse their interest in painting so that they might find self-expression through art. Besides portrait commissions, Ron enjoys southwest landscapes, old ghost town images, and especially the Indian lands and their people. Ron is known for his painting demonstrations for social as well as educational groups. The most recent endeavors have been murals in homes and public buildings in Tucson, Arizona, Jenson Beach, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas, of which many are rendered from photographs. Also, Ron does accept commissions.
